Police say 15-year-old Adam Patrick McBride, of Washington Terrace, was hiking with a group of friends when he slipped and fell about 50 feet. He suffered severe traumatic injuries, including injuries to his head. Adam was airlifted to Primary Children’s Hospital where he later died.
His family released this statement Wednesday: "Adam Patrick McBride was taken from us much too early in a tragic hiking accident over the weekend. Adam had a huge heart and a special smile that affected everyone he came in contact with. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank the Davis County Sheriffs, search and rescue, life flight, and all of the EMT's and everyone at Primary Children's for all of their efforts to try and save Adam. The family would also like to give a special thanks to the unknown woman who gave Adam CPR until emergency personnel arrived."
Viewings will be held Thursday from 6-8 pm and Friday from 12:30-1:30 pm at Lindquist Mortuaries 3408 Washington Blvd. in Ogden.
