$1,400 reward offered in dog's death

OGDEN, Utah (AP) - A $1,400 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the death of a dog found in an Ogden-area campsite fire pit.
OGDEN, Utah (AP) - A $1,400 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the death of a dog found in an Ogden-area campsite fire pit.
   
The 8-year-old Chihuahua known as Hope sustained burns to more than 25 percent of her body, mainly on the legs and belly, and died Wednesday.
   
Ogden's Standard-Examiner reports police are still trying to determine whether someone threw the dog into the fire pit or whether she fell.
   
A woman found the dog in the South Fork Canyon-area fire pit around June 20, but the incident wasn't reported to authorities until June 28.
   
Nicole Hellstrom of Ogden's True Hearts Rescue Shelter says she suspects the dog was thrown into the fire pit based on the height of its wall.
