CLEARFIELD, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A 13-year-old runaway girl who was in the company of an adult man has been found in Sacramento, California.

Police say Astrid Valdivia left a note with her family saying she was running away from home and staying with a friend. Police say Astrid was last seen at North Davis Junior High by her 15-year-old sister.

Clearfield Detectives say they have new information from the family which prompted an “Endangered Person Advisory,” due to the victim’s age and possible relationship with a 30-year-old man, identified as Anthony Allen Martinez.

Police say Anthony has a history of violence, and detectives believe he may have enticed Astrid away from her family.

Clearfield Police received information where Martinez was hiding. They alerted authorities in California, who located Martinez and Astrid Valdivia.

Martinez tried to escape on foot, but was quickly apprehended by police officers and will face charges of resisting arrest and child endangerment by California Authorities. The Clearfield Police Department will be seeking a warrant charging Martinez with Child Kidnapping.
