The Y Fliker Across America team is on a coast to coast journey. Starting in Los Angeles, California the team stopped here on its way to New York, New York.
“The Y Fliker scooter is a full body workout, so you move your whole body to make it go,” says event organizer, Waneska Valois.
With obesity rates on the rise a full body workout is just what some kids need.
That’s the motivation for this movement, flikering 3282 miles across thirteen states including ours.
Stops along the way like this one in Salt Lake City offer local residents the opportunity test drive the scooter and jump onboard with the cause.
“It’s so critical especially with video games that capture kids in their own home that they just get out and get physical,” says mother, Julien Smith.
Even better when kids are getting a workout and don’t even realize it.
“They kind of looked a little funky, but they’re fun to ride,” says Liam Alfred.
The group’s goal is to raise enough money to purchase one thousand scooters for physical education programs across the country. A fifty dollar donation will provide one scooter. To donate go to: yflikeracrossamerica.com
