It is a legacy of love passed down from mother to daughter; both donating kidneys to friends.
Sandy Engstrum said of her donation eleven years ago, "I felt very strongly that i needed to be tested and i was a perfect match."
Sandy was the first to donate. She donated a kidney to her friend Larraine who was very sick.
Larraine Taylor said, "When you are sick with kidney disease, you are knocking on death's door all of a sudden an angel comes."
And this week Sandy's daughter was the angel.
Jessica Mauchley said about her decision to donate this week, "I kept getting this feeling that i needed to get in touch with her about the kidney."
It is a rare support, both mother and daughter being donors, support that made this week's donation easier.
Sandy said, "They take the kidney - it hurts for a few weeks, but i would never know the difference and it has been over eleven years."
Jessica said, "Knowing she did it and she was okay afterwards."
This gift of life all three women have experienced helps them to encourage everyone to do the same.
Jessica said, "It's minor pain, it isn't anything compared to someone dying."
Sandy added to that, "If you could do something to save a life, or improve someone's quality of life and it wasn't going to damage your quality of life - I can't imagine anyone not doing it."
