A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued for northern Utah from Sunday into Monday. Be careful out there tonight with dense fog, and areas of freezing fog making for icy spots. Lows will be around 32. Sunday, a cold front will approach the state. Southerly winds will eat up the fog as well as the inversion, and push temperatures into the lower 40s by noontime. As the storm moves in, a mix of rain and snow will develop by late morning up around Cache Valley, around noon near Salt Lake, and afternoon down into Utah County. Rain and snow will change to all snow by late afternoon. As the cold front crosses the area, an isolated rumble of thunder or two is possible. Snowfall will be heavy at times tomorrow afternoon and evening. Snow will taper off by Monday morning. The Wasatch Front will see between 2-5", with the mountains getting up to 16".
A moist, northwest flow will continue with periods of snow through midweek. High pressure will build in, drying things out by late week and next weekend.
Have a good Sunday,
