Abigail Jacobs from West Elm explained the goal of the store, "We making local connections. That is so important for our store, we want this to be a place that represents their community."
West Elm is carrying merchandise from four Utah women who sell their designs on Etsy.com. Etsy is the online commerce website featuring handmade art.
For the most part the artists sell their product just online, so having the opportunity to sell inside a store too could take their business to the next level.
Stacey Foster designs Arrows under the name Fletcher and Fox, she told ABC4; "Sometimes handmade can be looked down upon as too crafty or not good quality and really there is great work out there and having a store willing to carry gives us credibility to the what these Crafters produce."
An opportunity West Elm is excited to offer to some of Utah's finest.
Jacobs said, "We want to do as much as possible to elevate the craft that these people are doing."
West Elm opens Thursday morning.
