TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – A Taylorsville man was arrested this week on allegations of sexual assault on several young girls. So far five victims have come forward and police say there are likely more.

Police aren’t saying where the suspect, Ramiro Cruz lives, but say it’s near 5400 South and 4000 West. Neighbors are shocked to hear about the accusations.

"That's horrible, I don't like it at all, it's very disturbing. Something needs to be done about people like this," says father, Gene Kent.

That's exactly what West Valley police are trying to do as they investigate Cruz. He's facing numerous charges including aggravated sexual abuse of a child and child endangerment.

"They had been invited to the house for sleepovers which was when he would touch them inappropriately," says Sgt. Jason Hauer, with the West Valley Police Department.

The victims range in age from five to thirteen and there could be some who haven’t come forward. That's why parents should be on high alert.

"We're asking parents that if they recognize this individual that they speak to their kids and let us know whether or not there may have been a problem," says Hauer.

Kent says he knows talking to his son about this is important, so it didn't take this case to start the conversation.

"We make sure that we teach him that some people make bad decisions and you can't be around those people, because they can hurt you," says Kent.

If you have any information or you fear your child may be a victim of Cruz you should contact West Valley Police at (801) 840-4000.
