SALT LAKE CITY - With companies spending nearly $4 million for ads broadcasted to 100 million people during the Super Bowl, Richter7 ad-makers are anxious to cast their votes to label the best and worst commercials of the game.

“The Super Bowl presents a great opportunity for companies to release their top-notch, most entertaining ads in front of millions and it’s no wonder companies are trending toward purchasing longer two- to three-minute ad slots,” said Tim Brown, Richter7 partner. “However, with all of the hype that is produced each year, fans expectations are raised, which could multiply the impact of poorly done ads.”

Every Super Bowl commercial was reviewed and critiqued today by all Richter7 employees during their 18thannual Ad Bowl. Afterward, they collaborated and voted them into categories including, “Most Valuable Ad,” “Best Low Budget Award” and “Illegal Use of Money.” This year’s Most Valuable Ad Award went to Dodge Ram.

“Each year, we see an increasing amount of social media elements integrated in the commercials,” said Brown. “Coca Cola’s commercial allowed viewers to engage with its company by allowing fans to vote on the outcome of a race that played out in a later ad during the Super Bowl. This type of creativity and strategic thinking provides a fun and effective way to get the most out of these costly ads.”

Commercials during the Super Bowl and Ad Bowl continued to get discussed and debated on Twitter by following the hashtag #R7AdBowl. Winners of all seven categories were announced onwww.facebook.com/richter7, andwww.twitter.com/richter7. Below is the final list of winners and losers from Ad Bowl XVIII.
