SANDY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police vividly describe the man involved in the armed robbery in Sandy which led two schools to lock down in Murray Monday afternoon.

The suspect is being described as a white male in his mid 30's. He is 5'08 tall with a medium build. Scruffy facial hair and blue eyes. He had a distinct tattoo of barbed wire or of stitching on the back of his neck. At the time of the robbery he wore a gray and blue beanie hat that had snowflakes on it. Murray's Grant Elementary and Viewmont Elementary were both on lockdown as police investigated a robbery at 10835 South State Street in which a suspect fired a gun into the air.

A chase ensued, and police took one person into custody near the schools in Murray.
