A limo company owner next door to where the bust happened tells ABC 4 Utah he was shocked to see SWAT teams. What started out as a quiet Wednesday afternoon in West Valley City, turned suspicious when A Limousine Connection owner Marlin Baer looked out the window.
“They were all in their gear, they were in two vehicles a white one and a black one and they just all rushed in,” said A Limousine Connection Owner Marlin Baer.
‘They’ were SWAT Team members from the Drug Enforcement Agency who were dressed in black, carrying guns, and moving swiftly and deliberately on the property and inside the business in question.
“When I saw the SWAT team go by our window, I didn't know what to think. And then next thing I know we're coming out to get lunch and there's police all around our building area,” said Baer.
DEA Agents and West Valley City Police officers were all on scene. Initially, the two agencies were not on the same page as West Valley officers didn’t know about the DEA investigation. But they two agencies quickly worked out an understanding.
Baer says he isn’t involved in the investigation. Not knowing exactly what happened inside doesn’t make him feel unsafe, but it uneasy. What’s worse is that he says he can’t believe his neighbor, a man he calls ‘Hector,’ could be a bad guy in anyway.
“If we have an issue like we can't get a car started, a battery, or timing belt, he fixes it for us in a timely manner,” said Baer.
We talked to West Valley City Police who referred us to the Drug Enforcement Agency. The DEA says they found methamphetamine inside the business. They wouldn’t tell us how much or any other details. The DEA Spokesperson says Wednesday’s search warrant was part of a larger investigation.
