Beating the heat during soaring high temperatures

It may not officially be summer but people are already trying to keep cool by heading out the door a little earlier to avoid high temperatures.
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (ABC 4 Utah) - It may not officially be summer but people are already trying to keep cool by heading out the door a little earlier to avoid high temperatures.

Whether you're going for a run, kick boxing in the park, or dashing through the water getting out before the days high temps is just one way to beat the heat

For Jennifer Stock, her two kids and one on the way getting out before the days high temps is now part of their daily routine. She tells ABC 4 Utah “This morning we thought we'd come out here to Liberty Park first thing in the morning before it gets too hot. I always let the kids run in the sprinklers. We're just trying to get out before it gets too hot.”

For stock, one concern she has with the heat is the intense sun rays which is why she says keeping her kids head and face protected with hats is key. “I'm amazed how much more sun my kids get here in Utah then elsewhere so I make sure to put sunscreen on them”, says Stock.

Despite having to plan her day around the change in temperature Stock and others enjoying the outdoors aren't complaining. “You know I’ll take the heat over the winter any day. So, I’m still happy even though I’m hot."

Plus, with rising temperatures it's always a good idea to wear plenty of sunscreen and drink lots of water.
