"It’s a little unsettling,” said Lincoln Caskinette who lives next to where the invasion happened. Caskinette says its uncomfortable knowing three armed men broke into his next door neighbors home while his family was sleeping.
Police says they received two phone calls around 5:20 at
Sgt. Burke says five adults and five children were home at the time and one of the adults took matters into his own hands by hitting one of the intruders, who was armed with a Tec 9 pistol over the head and knocking him out.
“A black male suspect was unconscious upon our arrival he was bleeding from the face and a cut above his head,” said Sgt. Burke.
That man was treated for his injuries but is in critical condition at the hospital. Meanwhile the search is on for the remaining two men that got away. They are described as two adult black males in their late 20's to early 30's, 5'10" to 6’ tall with a medium build and wearing all black clothing including black masks.
Fortunate it wasn't his own home, Caskinette tells ABC 4 Utah he is prepared to keep his family safe at any cost and says he carries a glock 40 caliber handgun.
All three men are facing aggravated attempted burglary and assault charges. Anyone with information regarding this is asked to contact West Valley Police, your call will remain anonymous.
