Barnes had heard of skydiving, but she never wanted to do it until she saw some divers at the Ogden airport
"I thought, well that looks really fun and no big deal so yeah, I think I would like to try that," Barnes said.
Barnes went home to canyon creek, and told the activity director she wanted to jump. After several consultations with skydivers and healthcare professionals, Barnes was ready to go. So a big group of her friends from canyon creek hopped on a bus and headed to Tooele to cheer her on as she jumped with Skydive Utah. What did she think about her experience?
"Oh my gosh, I have no way of even beginning to explain what it was like. It was just, powerful," Barnes said.
Barnes said her coach walked her through the entire process, making it a fun experience she'll never forget.
When we asked if she would do it again, she exclaimed, "no, I won't do it again because I’m old!”
Apparently that one jump was enough to last her a lifetime.
