Dean Bullock is a dad of 9, grandpa to 17 and an Iron Man.
Besides finishing three Iron Men, he has run 23 marathons; but that is not the end of dean's story.
Dean explains, "On July 12 2012, everything changed."
That morning dean was running, but had a headache. After some bugging from his wife and family, Dean went to a doctor to make sure everything was okay. But he did not get good news.
Dean said, "They told me, I had a brain tumor."
Surgeons took out the tumor that was followed up with radiation and now every month Dean gets a dose of chemotherapy.
Dean didn't stay down for long within two months of the surgery, Dean was running and in May he will run a half Iron Man while he still going through chemotherapy.
If you ask Dean about that, he doesn't seem much. He will tell you he fells fine and the chemotherapy doesn't phase him one bit.
While all of this is fantastic, Dean is not done. He has bigger goals than just St. George's Iron Man. Dean's eyes are set on Kona Hawaii. He wants to participate in the most elite of all Iron Men.
Dean's family wants to get him there.
Dean's daughter Whitney Nielson told ABC 4 News, "He is amazing and that's why we want people to help him get his dream of going to Kona."
Dean's family put together this video and entered it on an Iron Man website qualifying him for a spot in Kona.
That's where you come in. Dean's family needs your votes to make this dream a reality.
