Degeneres praised the 9 people who stopped to help 46-year-old Dennis Andersen and three children, including his 9-year-old daughter, a 4-year old son and his daughter's 9-year-old friend.
The group was submerged and trapped upside down in the river after the car slid off the road in Logan Canyon on December 31.
Andersen and the children were strapped into seat belts when Chris Willden came on the scene with his father.
Willden shot out a window on the car with his handgun as others arrived to help. The group was eventually able to flip the car over and cut the seat belts so the children could be pulled to safety.
During the Ellen show, Andersen and his children met and hugged the people who jumped into Logan River's icy water to save them. Degeneres rewarded the heroes each with more then $30,000 worth of gifts. The Andersen family and their friend got a VIP pass to Disneyland, and each of the children also got $10,000 toward their education.
In September, Ellen rewarded another group from Logan who lifted a burning car from a motorcycle rider.
