1 cup sugar
½ cup shortening
1 cup pumpkin
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp salt
½ tsp cloves
2 cups flour
1 cup chocolate chips or raisins
1 cup nuts - walnuts or pecans (optional)
Mix eggs, sugar and shortening until smooth.
Put soda in pumpkin and mix.
Add pumpkin mixture to sugar mixture.
Stir in flour and spices. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Drop teaspoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 12 to 15 minutes.
