Anna and her figure skating coach Lisa Kriley talked about what it takes for Anna to be successful. Many hours each week are spent both on and off the ice training for competitions and performances.
Utah was represented this year by 15 skaters at the Sectional Competition and 8 skaters advanced to the Nationals.
The road to championships involves several qualifying competitions. Utah was privileged to host two of these this year which are won by bids from US Figure Skating each year.
Anna Grace took 2nd place at the Pacific Coast Regionals held in Murray, UT and went on to finish 1st in the Pacific Coast Sectionals, which was held in Provo, Utah two weeks later. The top 4 in each competition advance to the National Championships.
Utah hosts over five additional non-qualifying competitions each year for skaters to test their skating programs in front of an audience and are free to the public. Join them at the Utah Winter Games Figure Skating Competition in Park City, UT – February 7-9, 2013.
Spring Ice Shows are held each Spring, proceeds help pay for ice time and other activities the club members are involved in like competitions, testing and clinics.
Utah built some great facilities for the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics – they continue to use them to build champions.
Anna Grace know what it takes - a lot of time, dedication and hard work. She has set her goals high and we are glad to be helping her achieve them here in UTAH!
