SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A 35-year-old Kearns man will serve up to 20 years in prison for his role in a fight that left his half-brother dead.

Court records show Christopher Blackhorse pleaded guilty to second-degree felony manslaughter and third-degree felony obstructing justice in August.

The charges were reduced from first-degree murder and second-degree obstruction of justice.

A 3rd District Court judge on Monday sentenced Blackhorse to consecutive terms of one-to-15 years and zero-to-five years.

Blackhorse was arrested Dec. 15 after reporting that 22-year-old Daryl Antonio was hurt and not responding.

He told police the two had been in a fight.

A medical examiner testified in March that Antonio's body had suffered a prolonged beating and was covered with cuts and bruises.

Officials said Antonio might have lived if he had consumed less alcohol.
