He’s now inmate # 28170 at the Carbon County jail accused of making terroristic threats.
“I believe he's also threatened the president’s life,” says Captain Bill Barnes of the Price police department. “He also had an incident at a campus in Arizona.
“At Eastern Arizona University, Craig was arrested for storming a classroom, waving a bible and making apocalyptic predictions.
In Colorado, Craig's accused of making threats to Mormon and Catholic churches. And on his blog where he calls himself a jihadist there are rambling posts claiming he's coming back from Egypt to destroy Texas.
After weeks on the run Price police arrested him Thursday when he came into their town.
“When he hits town he's driving a small little white car and he has spray painted some words on it with religious ideation to it and was obviously very easy to spot," says Cpt. Barnes.
Barnes says there's no evidence of Craig making or planning any threats to the community. But he didn't shy away from making his beliefs known.
"He expressed some apocalyptic type of ideation the end of the world type thing,” says Cpt. Barnes. “He didn't make any specific threat."
To some sports analysts Craig was on a fast track to becoming an elite coach. But something in him snapped.
“I think he may just be experiencing health issues that are causing problems for him versus being a bona fide terrorist type person,” says Cpt. Barnes.
Craig may also be facing federal charges. Captain Barnes says they found shotgun shells and marijuana when he was arrested. He says those are federal violations.
