SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – The daughter of a Utah County doctor, who was recently released from jail, is afraid her father may come after her. Alexis Somers says “He has threatened me. He has threatened my little sisters. He has had three years to sit and plan his next move. With the case pending I am one of the key witnesses.”

Dr. Martin MacNeill was convicted of fraud and spent three years behind bars. He is now on probation and living in the Pleasant Grove house where his wife, Michele MacNeill, was found dead in 2007. Neighbors tell ABC 4 News, now that MacNeill is back, they are concerned and there is an uneasiness all over the neighborhood.

Somers has more than an uneasy feeling. “Everything I thought I knew about my father was a lie.” Somers and some Utah County authorities believe Martin MacNeill drugged his wife which led to her death. However, no charges connected to that allegation have been filed against the physician.

Somers says she is concerned that her father will retaliate. “The last three years he was behind bars and I felt pretty safe knowing he couldn’t hurt me or anyone else.” She doesn’t feel that way anymore.

She wants to see her father go to trial and “get justice” for her mother. At the same time she believes her mother was just one of many people hurt by her father. “There are a lot of victims out there.”

MacNeill’s attorney has always denied he did anything to harm his wife.
