"Being a stay at home mom, I've given up my career to be at home with my boys and I've lost a lot of those social contacts that I've made in the work force," Emily Ashby says.
Ashby started blogging about a year and a half ago. She went through post pardum depression after her first child and says sitting at the keyboard keeps her going.
"It gave me something to look forward to, I could blog about the good things about baby and good things going on, so I would blog about it and other moms could relate to that and what I'm going through," she says.
Emily's hobby has now turned into quite a bit more. She regularly reviews baby products like this Baby B'Air that keeps infants safe on planes. Or she will tell other moms if new angled sippy cups like the Tilty really work. Blogging, Ashby says, has turned into the moms' word of mouth.
"When you are out of the work force and not going to school and doing those things and still feel like you are connected to the community so this is a great way to do it."
This year Emily even developed her own baby product. It's a cozy car seat blanket. She now joins hundreds, maybe even thousands of Utah mom-preneurs that are connecting on the computer.
