These were some of the hot topics in round two of the presidential debates.
But now, the internet is on fire over one phrase,
“Binders full of women.”
Mitt Romney used this phrase Tuesday night when answering a question about women in the workplace. Romney talked about his successful record of hiring females when he was Governor of Massachusetts.
"I went to a number of women's groups and said can you help us find folks? And they brought us whole binders full of women.”
And almost as soon as Mitt Romney said that, Twitter had a new toy to play with.
As Adam Sharp of Twitter explained,
"Before the end of the debate there had been tens of thousands of tweets about the binder remark. Someone had even created a parody account "Romney's binder" that had picked up 30,000 followers before the debate even ended."
Then came the pictures.
Soon the internet was full of pictures of Mitt Romney with binders full of women.
And binder pictures of Hugh Hefner, Bill Clinton and the “most interesting man in the world.” There were even binder pics of the Romney family's polygamous past.
We also found several songs about binders on YouTube, not to mention some Facebook pages.
And if you think "binders full of women" is just a big internet joke, remember this;
the 2012 presidential race may be decided by female voters, not all of whom are laughing. This is why Wednesday even the president was talking about binders and the vice president too.
